E-Registry System to Be Launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from 17 December 2025 Peshawar Selected as Pilot District for Digital Rollout
Peshawar, 12 December 2025 –
The Board of Revenue, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has announced the launch of the province’s first-ever E-Registration (E-Registry) System, commencing from 17 December 2025 in District Peshawar as the pilot district. This major reform initiative aims to modernize land registration services, minimize procedural delays, and enhance transparency in Sub-Registrar Offices across the province.
This landmark initiative is being implemented on the special directions of the Worthy Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR), Mr. Amer Sultan Tareen, and Member (Settlement & Consolidation, Taxes), Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Shah. With the launch, a complete ban on manual registries will come into effect in Peshawar, marking a significant and historic transition toward digital governance. The system will subsequently be rolled out to all remaining districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with schedules to be issued separately.
The introduction of the E-Registry System demonstrates the Board of Revenue’s strong commitment to transparency, efficiency, and citizen facilitation. This digital transformation is expected to substantially improve public service delivery and strengthen governance mechanisms across the province.
The E-Registry System has been designed to provide a fast, secure, and citizen-friendly experience. By eliminating long queues and multiple visits, it ensures a quicker and hassle-free registration process. The system introduces complete transparency in fee and tax calculation through automated computation, ensuring that citizens are protected from overbilling or hidden charges.
A key component of this system is its secure digital record-keeping, which guarantees safe, permanent, and tamper-proof storage of deeds and certificates. Standardized deed preparation using uniform digital templates will reduce errors, prevent overwriting, and maintain consistency across all registries.
To further enhance security and verification, each digitally issued certificate will contain a unique QR code, enabling instant online authentication from anywhere. The system also reduces unnecessary reliance on intermediaries, allowing citizens to complete their registration independently, thereby lowering unofficial costs and opportunities for manipulation.
The Board of Revenue has successfully completed extensive system testing, staff training, and institutional coordination to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted transition from manual to digital operations. The initiative builds upon the success of the E-Stamp system, which laid the technological foundation for this next phase of digital transformation.
The launch of the E-Registry System marks a major milestone in the province’s journey toward digital governance. With Sub-Registrar Offices shifting to structured and technology-driven workflows, the reform sets new standards of efficiency, transparency, and public facilitation across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
